Playing With Vellum

Hello all :)

Today's post is as you can guess from the title about playing with Vellum, now I have never used vellum before and after watching one of Jennifer Ever's videos on You Tube where she did some beautiful Vellum Butterflies I just had to give it a try.

So here they are

I used the following products:
Vellum
Spectrum Noir Markers
Black Embossing Powder by WOW
Versamark Ink Pad
Visible Image Large Butterfly Stamp - left butterflies
Recollections Stamps - middle and right butterflies
Heat Tool
Stickles - Diamond and Star Dust
Do Crafts Pearl Effects

I love how these turned out, I will admit I was a little nervous with how they would turn out especially with using stickles on them but remembered that Jen's turned out beautifully and low and behold so did these, I left them over night to dry and then fussy cut them out.

I intend to use these on different projects so keep a look out for those and I am sure you will recognise them when you see them.

Follow Your Dreams ATC

COOOOEEE!!!

I am flying in today to share with you all another ATC in my ATC range that I have done and once again with this one I have tried a new technique to me.

I love how the rainbow of colour has turned hot this technique is known as Joseph's Coat and it is so easy but effective, I can see me using this technique a lot more.

The products I used to do this piece are:
Smooth White Card
Lavinia Stamps - Fairy Moon, Sentiment and Mini Stars
Distress Inks
Versamark Ink Pad
White Ink Pad
WOW Embossing Powder - Clear
Heat Tool

I would love to see what you come up with using this technique and that this has given you some inspiration.

Hampton Art- Stamp Perfect Tool

COOOOEEEE!!
Just flying in to share with you all my new toy :) and to share my thoughts on this tool.

So as the title of this post says the new toy is the Hampton Art Stamp Perfect Tool, which is in all honesty a more affordable stamp precision tool it is very much like the well known Misti.

Here is the Stamp Perfect Tool

The stamp perfect in my eyes is absolutely perfect I LOVE mine there are only a few differences between this and the Misti, the main and biggest difference for me is the price I paid £27.49 posted fro Buddly Crafts (i will link at the end of this post of where you can purchase your very own) which is amazing and one of the main reasons I went for this over the Misti as the price for the Misti is way out of my budget.

The stamp perfect is slightly smaller than the Misti and bigger than the Mini Misti so I would say it is in-between the two. The actual size of this is approx: 7 in x 9 in with lid closed and the stamping area is 7.375 in x 5.5 in so with this in mind you can not use the big background stamps, for me is not a problem at all as I do not use them.

It does come with two very strong magnets (so make sure to keep them away from each other) these are found on the under-side of the tool, it also comes with a foam pad which is used with clear stamps you only remove this when using cling stamps (like the big red one's for example).

This tool is perfect for precision stamping and for using layered stamps and for doing multiple cards in one go. it is so easy to use.
For me it is going to be my most used tool as stamping with acrylic blocks or a stamp press (one of the acrylic blocks with sponges) can be difficult at times especially when my Fibromyalgia is very bad in my hands so would also be perfect for anyone who suffers with arthritis.

So if you have been wanting a Misti but can not afford or justify the cost of the Misti then this is ideal, It has also been mentioned that Hampton Art are bringing out a 10 in x 10in Stamp Perfect and is being released end of Feb beginning of March so if you do use the big background stamps you will be able to with the new one.

I purchased my Stamp Perfect from Buddly Crafts another stockist of this is Craftie Charlie there may be other UK stockists but these were the two i checked as when I ordered mine Craftie Charlie did not have it in stock.

If you need any more information or want to see how it is used and so on, there are some videos on You Tube where you can find comparison videos of the Misti and Stamp Perfect and so on.

I hope this has been some help to you

Crafty Day With The Bestie

Hi all

Well today's post is so I can share with you all some recent makes I did when me and my best friend had our first crafty day of the new year, We don't get to have crafty day's as often as we used to so when we do we make the most of it, with sharing new techniques we have picked up new products and of cause plenty of giggles and chatting.

So armed with my stamps, inks, blending tools and more off I went with what I wanted to do while my bestie did some collage backgrounds, here is what I come up with

You may recognise the background colours from a previous make I did, I wanted to do the same blended background as I really like the colour combination. So this piece was done using the following products:

White Matt Card 250gsm
Tim Holtz Distress Inks
Versafine Inks
Inkylicious Stencil
Hampton Art Stamp Perfect Tool (New Toy - Blog Post to come about this)

The second piece I wanted to do a more of a daytime background so I referred to my Distress Ink Background Swatch which I have slowly been putting together I will of cause share this with you all as soon as I have finished it. I also wanted to use some of my new Lavinia Stamps... Now I had the stamps I wanted to use and the colours for the background.

And here we have it :)

I absolutely adore how this one came out and how well the background came out, for this piece I used the following:

White Matt Card 250gsm
Distress Inks
Baby Wipe
Inkylicious Stencil
Hampton Art Stamp Perfect Tool

So there we have it two beautiful scenes all completed and ready to either be framed or made into cards.

I hope you have enjoyed looking at these pieces and any questions feel free to comment and I will get back to you :)

Don't forget to keep a look out for my posts on the Stamp Perfect Tool and the Distress Ink Background Swatch.
